My therapeutic perspective is one born out of an understanding of trauma and is connected with faith. I work with clients to discover the roots to the problems they are struggling with and bring truth into those dark places. When truth reaches into all parts of a person's life it changes the way they view themselves, their spouse, kids, parents and the world at large. Shining a light in the dark often shrinks the size of our monsters and makes them much more manageable.
I work with individuals, couples, and families. I help people address depression, anxiety, relational/marital conflict, anger issues, parent-child conflict, teens, grief, addictions and all kinds of trauma. I am also uniquely qualified to work with teen boys and their families.
I have worked in the area of addiction and trauma for the past 17 years. I earned my masters in Marriage and Family Therapy from Harding University in 2009. I worked at Capstone Treatment Center as a therapist for 5 years, treating young men struggling with all kinds of addictions and trauma. I also ran my own private practice for the past five years. I am now excited to be a part of the family at The Finding Place Counseling.
Truth: We all struggle in life and we all need others to encourage and walk with us, cry with us, and help us find our way. You are valuable.
I utilize EMDR and Brainspotting as well as many other forms of therapy to help my clients.
