Our experience last weekend was beyond our hopes and expectations. Things feel dramatically different! John gently guided us out of some places we have been stuck for a long time; having that safe space with a good guide was exactly what we needed. -Jim and Noel, married 32 years
My intensive with John was very helpful! It helped me a great deal. John made it easy for me to feel comfortable and really open up. -David, age 46.
Hi, I’m John.
I believe wholeheartedly in the power of good therapy. Therapy helped save my life. And for me to offer that experience to others makes this job immeasurably meaningful to me. I have turned my own healing into a lifelong pursuit of growth. I look forward to joining you as you pursue growth and change in your own life.
I am trained as a Certified Sexual Addiction Therapist (CSAT), Certified Trauma Therapist (CTT), Brainspotting, EMDR I and II, and Safe and Sound Protocol. I am also trained to work with betrayed partners as a Certified Partner Trauma Therapist (CPTT) candidate therapist. I enjoy incorporating IFS (Internal Family Systems or “parts” work) in my practice with clients. I spent 4 years working in a specialized residential treatment center, where I provided intensive, in-depth therapy for individuals and their families facing complex trauma, addiction, and relational challenges. My work includes helping clients overcome generational trauma and shame, addiction, grief and loss, attachment wounds, marital conflict, and giving my clients a deep sense of understanding and freedom.
Outside of therapy, I spend most of my time with my lovely wife and our 2 children. Just like in therapy, I find immense joy in movement. I love to run, walk, bike, swim, participate in team sports, or anything that gets me moving. And my friends call me “Snoopy”. Feel free to ask me why in our session together!
***At The Finding Place Counseling, we believe therapy should fit you, not the other way around. Every treatment plan is thoughtfully personalized to your unique needs. For many clients, traditional 60 minute sessions provide the support they need. However, others—especially couples, those traveling far, or clients navigating more complex concerns—may highly benefit from longer sessions, therapy intensives, or group therapy. That’s why we offer a range of options, including 60 minute sessions, extended therapy sessions (90 minutes to 2 hours), weekend therapy intensives (1, 2, or 3 day formats), and group therapy for both men and women. By carving out intentional, uninterrupted time, you create the space to lean fully into therapy, explore your story more deeply, and experience meaningful, lasting change.
Experience Restoration & Freedom
Many people don’t get the results they want from therapy because insurance and standard session lengths get in the way of treating root issues.
The Finding Place Counseling in Little Rock, AR is a private counseling center that offers custom therapy intensives to help clients quickly achieve breakthroughs on the road to restoration and freedom.
